Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising the warehouse functions of incoming and outgoing product, inventory, and supply chain processes. This role is responsible for the safety, development, and productivity of the warehouse employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct the daily activities of the warehouse including shipping and receiving, order building and the staging of shipments for delivery. Complete observations to coach employees and use the data to make improvements. May be involved in facility management.
- Select new employees and provide productive on-boarding and training experience. Provide leadership and direction for warehouse employees, conduct team meetings, and provide performance feedback and evaluations. Hold the team accountable to warehouse efficiency and development standards.
- Manage the first-in first-out (FIFO) inventory to maximize product freshness and minimize product loss. Oversee warehouse movements that impact overall inventory. May have overall inventory responsibilities including process compliance of order accuracy, driver check-in, and managing breakage, damage, and loss.
- Manage operating expenses and labor budgets while meeting service needs. Reviews timekeeping records to ensure accurate payroll.
- Work cross-functionally with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery of incoming and outgoing product or materials.
- Ensure a safe work environment and ensure warehouse employees receive proper safe working techniques and equipment. Identify and report any unsafe working conditions. Comply with OSHA and local agency regulations, company policy and procedures, and participate in the local Safety Committee.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of work experience required.
- Two years supervision or leadership experience preferred.
- Prior experience in warehouse and inventory required.
- Intermediate computer application skills including inventory management systems and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift and powered rider pallet jack. Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.
Pay: $56,170 - $66,702 a year
