This includes building new features - using Snowflake, SQL, DBT and Python -to improve machine learning models, rewriting legacy models, and support the data preparation for our reporting efforts. Improves data engineering solutions in cloud environments by leveraging database technologies such as Snowflake.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops and facilitates innovative frameworks and data management to combat money laundering.
Applies principals of computer science to critically analyze client specific business requirements.
Translates requirements to highly technical specifications.
Evaluates and defines software development methodologies.
Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposing modifications and improvements based on user need.
Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Develop features in Snowflake using SQL, DBT and Python that support the team's work on identifying suspicious transactions and customers
Support the development of experimental AI/machine learning algorithms into scalable, robust production-ready processes
Help drive the future direction of the team's technological initiatives
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and training to other team members through code reviews, collaboration, and educational presentations
Define and educate others about software development process standard methodologies
Explore new technologies, emerging trends and determine their applicability to the team's use cases; orchestrate the adoption of such technologies and trends where appropriate.

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing data pipelines using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and deploying code and services to cloud-based data platforms -- DbT and Snowflake.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing data pipelines using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and deploying code and services to cloud-based data platforms -- DbT and Snowflake.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") working as a member of a data engineering team responsible for developing high quality data solutions in a multi-developer Agile environment according to design and coding best practices; developing ELT pipelines to migrate data to and from Snowflake data store, using DBT, Python, and Snow-flake; and loading data from flat files and JSON into Snowflake using DBT.
DE assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. Designing and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability using Jira, Confluence, Tableau, and Actimize.
DE working within the software development cycle from design to implementation to testing, CI/CD, version control management/git, and documentation using Github and Jenkins.
DE manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large disconnected datasets using Alteryx, Snowflake, DbT, and Python.
