Job Description:

The Role

We are seeking an experienced individual to serve as Director, Product Governance to evaluate, research, and drive mutual fund and ETF product proposals through approval and launch. This includes proposals for new funds, changes to funds, mergers, and liquidations. Reporting into a Vice President in Product Governance, you will enjoy exposure to a wide variety of projects, with a primary focus on a specific asset class and exposure to other asset classes. In this role, you will work closely with other product and investment professionals, operations teams, and oversight partners to ensure that proposals are thoroughly researched and well designed to benefit fund shareholders.

You will ensure that product proposals, especially those presented to the Fidelity Fund Boards, are thoroughly vetted and compelling from a fund shareholder perspective. This will help ensure that our customers and the boards that oversee the funds continue to be well served by our investment offerings.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 8+ years' success in the financial industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mutual funds and ETFs. Familiarity with Fidelity's fund offerings is preferred. Knowledge of unregistered investment product structures and/or alternative investments is a plus.
  • Management and leadership of cross-functional initiatives from idea generation through rollout, as well as experience balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Research and data analysis, including review and comparison of disclosures in regulatory filings.
  • Effective communicator who can absorb complex information and present it, orally and in writing, in a digestible, audience-friendly way.
  • Ability to see the big picture and connect dots across projects, but with careful attention to detail, and apply independent critical thinking in order to identify potential issues and develop and implement creative solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and business partners to support Fidelity's product strategy and drive results. Positive relationship building, interpersonal and influencing skills up and down the organization, and management decision support.
  • Intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to learn and understand. Humility, with a genuine desire for continuous improvement.
  • Good judgment, so that you can make recommendations and decisions, balancing different perspectives while placing fund shareholder interests first.

The Team

The Product Governance team within Fidelity Asset Management is a dynamic, tenured team that focuses on the interests of our fund shareholders. Our mission is to evaluate, develop, and lead proposals through board approval into execution and serve as product specialists to enable Fidelity's investment product strategy.

Fidelity's hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Working onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
