POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Buyer, under the direction of the SR Supply Chain Manager, is responsible for evaluating the product and/or parts requirements of the Company and projecting, purchasing and controlling assigned materials used at the designated facility. The Buyer ensures there is a consistent flow of product and/or parts to enable uninterrupted production and efficient use of working capital.

KEY JOB DUTIES

Supplier Management:

  • Develop and maintain healthy supplier relationships.
  • Track supplier on time delivery, quality and costs performance to Azek standards and respond accordingly when targets are not met.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding material availability, shipment status or quality issues.
  • Coordinate with the Azek Sourcing Team on commodity strategies and supplier transfer needs.
  • Lead or participate in supplier improvement projects as needed or assigned.
  • For suppliers and commodities not management by Azek Sourcing Team, negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost savings while ensuring consistent quality and delivery timelines are met.

MRP Management:

  • Maintain key master data for assigned SKUs, including lead times, lot sizing, safety stock and pricing.
  • Maintain accurate Open Purchase Order data (e.g,. dock dates, acknowledgements and changes) within the ERP system.
  • Execute purchase planning orders for assigned part numbers or suppliers.
  • Action MRP exception messages to maintain appropriate component supply flow
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to align material availability with production schedules.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Review and communicate improvement opportunities for inventory strategy to planning and supply chain management.
  • For assigned part numbers, review and recommend improvement opportunities for improved days on hand while maintaining acceptable customer delivery metrics.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) and related inventory Gemba walks to resolve supplier related inventory discrepancies and holds.

  Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving material planning processes and inventory management.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure material requirements are met, proactively communicating supply risks.
  • Ensure PO pricing and quantity accuracy for payables processing and support quick resolution to supplier discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehousing teams to facilitate timely material movement and storage.
  • Support new product introductions and changes to existing products by managing material requirements.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field with 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Certificates & Licenses: ISM-CPM/CPSM certified, APICs-CPIM & CSCP desirable.
  • Computer Skills: ERP/SAP/JDE, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, MS Office Proficiency
  • Proven experience as a Material Planner, Inventory Planner, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and inventory control principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and material planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $71,500 in our lowest market up to $86,500 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
