** This position is office-centric **Truist is looking for a Technical Manager to lead and oversee large-scale infrastructure programs, including the migration of virtual environments to Nutanix or VMware VCF, Server Refresh Program and Virtual Server Right Sizing. This role will be responsible for coordinating infrastructure buildouts, cluster rebuilds and coordinating with application and change management teams. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in virtualization, infrastructure management, and IT transformation projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead migration projects for virtual environments to Nutanix or VMware VCF.
- Oversee infrastructure expansion, cluster rebuilds, and modernization efforts.
- Manage and execute server refresh programs to ensure obsolesce dates are met.
- Implement and optimize a virtual server rightsizing program to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business goals.
- Ensure adherence to change management and TDLC guidelines and procedures.
- Define short term and long-term architecture
- Provide implementation and service support of “below the line” Core IT Platform infrastructure with a focus on Production Stability / Uptime
- Provide continuous capacity planning to ensure service demands can be met
- Manage EOL evergreening of old equipment to manage technical debt
- Provide continuous improvements of service capabilities through efficiencies & optimization – focus on fast, easy, simple at the right cost
- Maintain service level monitoring through dashboards
Driving Responsibilities
- IT Infrastructure build-out and management:
- Responsible for procurement, installation and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software (includes PCs, peripherals, servers, networking equipment, operating systems and other software
- Develop, gain approval for and manage a budget to accomplish goals.
- Serve on the company IT Steering Team, which oversees all aspects of the company’s information technology function.
- Responsible for local IT vendor, contract and outsourcing management.
- Perform appropriate duties associated with project-based activities.
- Support employee and business software functionality:
- In cooperation with IT, local operations staff and key users, provide security, strategy, budgeting and disaster recovery/business continuity planning to offices and staff in multiple operating, business and functional units.
- Serve as the technical and communications liaison to and from stakeholders and office key users for IT communications, initiatives, needs assessments, etc.
- Provide new staff with PC/account setup and orientation.
- Provide escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, NAS, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery.
- Perform complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in cooperation with the Enterprise Helpdesk and accordance with established SLAs.
- Provide consulting/training/education services such as data management and staff training/orientation for standard systems.
- Manage administration, budget and policy management:
- Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license agreements management (SLA’s).
- Develops and monitor security compliance in accordance with IT standards, policies and procedures.

- Management of new vendor relationships for specific initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree and 15 to 20 years related experience or equivalent combination.
- Excellent knowledge of technical management and data governance.
- Knowledge of current trends in IT hardware and systems software field.
- Database management skills with the ability to produce reports.
- Familiarity with the support and troubleshooting of personal computers and tablet devices.
- Ability to analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement robust solutions
- Ability to interpret guidelines and analyze information to adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure, virtualization, and large-scale migration projects.
- Strong expertise in Nutanix, VMware VCF, and enterprise IT environments.
- Experience managing complex IT projects from planning to execution.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of server lifecycle management and performance optimization.
