The Vertex Internship Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our Global Human Resources team as a Summer Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in HR and contribute to our organization's success. Our HR department is comprised of multiple HR disciplines and capabilities, such as Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity, Total Rewards, Organizational Design, People Experience, People Analytics and HR Business Partnering. The actual project(s) assigned for this Summer Intern to make an impact will be determined prior to intern starting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to HR projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, planning ERN summit, and supporting talent development initiatives.
- Conduct analysis on Talent Development initiatives and their overall impact to the business, such as analyzing feedback on manager eco-system trainings and Healthy Teams toolkit.
- Conduct research and analysis on HR best practices and trends to support continuous improvement in HR processes.
- Support the performance management process by assisting in goal-setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
- Assist in the implementation and administration of HR programs and policies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including preparing reports, and coordinating HR events.

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced degree program in Human Resource Management or related discipline.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
- Knowledge of HR principles and best practices from coursework
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and collaborative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States
- Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before May 2025
- Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from May - August 2025
