The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Systems Engineering Team is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida.
Essential Functions:
This individual will perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The selected candidate will ensure that the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements are designed into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of experience in systems engineering; OR Master of Science degree in STEM with 0 years of experience.
• Experience in development and integration of large-scale systems.
• Experience with proposal technical volume writing.
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret prior to starting, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance after start of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in system concept of operations, requirements, and architecture definition for major development programs.
• Broad-based systems engineering experience in development, test, and post-transition activities of large systems on multiple security domains.
• Experience in engineering change board oversight and ensure adherence to technical.
• Experience in performing aircraft functional test.
• Evaluate test requirements to ensure completion of test phase.
• Assist with sell-off of system requirements to customer.
• Assist with resolution of discrepancy reports.
• Track hardware and software configuration throughout development lifecycle.
Salary Range: $75,300 - $112,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
