Summary

Position is located in the Intergovernmental Affairs Branch, Division of Legislative and Government Affairs (LGA), Office of Operations (OO), Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Position functions as the Branch Chief supervising Federal employees and contractor staff.

Duties

As a Supervisory Program Specialist (Supervisory Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist), GS-0301-15, you will use your knowledge of and experience with Intergovernmental and External Affairs to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Serving as an Advisor to the ARPA-H Director and senior staff on Interagency coordination with government officials at the National, State, local and Tribal levels.
  • Identifying key interagency partners for ARPA-H across the United States Government and working to build lasting relationships between senior ARPA-H leaders across the Interagency.
  • Undertaking specific leadership tasks and special assignments to implement ARPA-H goals and objectives which cut across the department and other Federal agencies.
  • Working with other Federal departments and agencies when interagency efforts are required to implement new policies or resolve problems and issues that affect HHS and ARPA-H. Serving as a coordinator, facilitator, and expediter for the director in solving crosscutting or special problems.
  • Attending meetings, and representing the ARPA-H director at meetings, conferences, etc., with representatives of other government agencies. Serving as an executive advisor to senior ARPA-H leaders and principal representative for ARPA-H in addition to providing leadership and executive direction for activities related to interagency coordination for the agency.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-15 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1) Serving as an advisor or consultant on legislative and intergovernmental issues affecting policies and/or programs; 2) Developing solutions to intergovernmental affairs issues; 3) Monitoring policy trends, legislation, and regulatory developments that impacts organizational mission and goals; and 4) Executing intergovernmental affairs strategies, programs, and policies to promote organization objectives and achievements.
