Summary
This position will serve as Supervisory Dentist and provide advanced dental health services to eligible pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, beneficiaries at nursing homes, schools. While the position is mainly located at the Wanblee Dental Clinic, the dentist may at times work at other dental clinics or community outreach locations, including Mobile Unit.

- As supervisory Dentist, incumbent plans, organizes, and administers a comprehensive dental health program for the Wanblee Health Clinic. Majority of work includes clinical dental care and performing dentistry at the health clinic.
- Ensures that department expenditures are within allocated budget and ensures that department supplies, equipment, etc., are ordered and purchased.
- Ensures that the department adheres to accreditation requirements. Ensures that staff maintains licensure.
- Assigns work to subordinates, approves leave, prepares performance plans, administers discipline, resolves grievances and complaints, and provides training and awards.
- Initiates Human Resources actions for vacant positions, interviews and selects candidates.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Individual Occupational Requirement
- Education: Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA), or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Licensure: Passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) AND possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-12: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: coordinate the day-to day clinical functions of a Dental Clinic; Provide professional dental care; Manage work schedules of subordinate staff; Advise in personnel matters relating to the dental staff including: recruiting and hiring; Maintains dental budget; Orientate new staff members and provide support staff training.
OR
Complete a 2-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science.
