Site Supervisor I or II - Warehouse Distribution Operations- Sulphur
Where will you work: Onsite at our Galveston Facility – 4500 Old Port Industrial Rd | Galveston, TX. 77554. Our site operates 24/7/365. You will have the option to work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
The Supervisor, Warehouse Distribution Operations provides supervisory leadership to hourly personnel (operations / maintenance) at the warehouse and assist with operations and maintenance tasks when coverage/demand is necessary. Organize, plan, and implement daily operating and maintenance instructions. Ensure employees perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner and adhere to all environmental, health and safety programs and policies. Coach and counsel employees in areas of job performance and training and provide feedback on performance throughout the year and in formal reviews.
What will you do:
- Supervise employees and contractors to ensure the appropriate training for work being performed has been received. Ensure employees attend all required environmental, health and safety training, complete progression
training and ensure proper documentation is filed accordingly in the employee training files. Ensure employees who have finished progression training complete all required refresher training.
- Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear
understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards. Manage performance issues when
necessary. Develop and coach employees in order to retain and grow organizational talent. Support employees in their career development at Mosaic.
- Oversee operations and maintenance activities for inbound and outbound shipments of various goods by several modes of transportation. Ensure manpower is scheduled as appropriate for inbound and outbound shipments.
Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventive maintenance work orders by due dates. Conduct safety tailgates and review all incident or near miss reports with employees.
- Monitor operations and maintenance activities and maintain compliance with all applicable permits and regulations (e.g. air and NPDES permits, Coast Guard regulations, and PSM/RMP elements). Assist employees with operation and maintenance tasks (e.g. Gantry operator, preventive maintenance).
What you’ll need:
High School Diploma/GED required
Minimum of three years’ experience leading a small to large team
10+ years' experience operating or managing a plant in the fertilizer industry, chemical industry and/or a heavy industrial environment
Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment
Experience with hazardous materials management
Operations experience
Ability to lead teams effectively and train/develop the skills of their team members
MS Office Suite, proficient computer literacy
Driver's License
Transportation Worker Identification Credential
(TWIC) - TSA
