We are seeking a Senior Quality Manager for our Critical Handling Solutions business. This is not your average quality job! This role offers a unique opportunity to build on our rich history in the nuclear industry and enhance our Quality programs in anticipation of significant growth in Critical Handling and Nuclear Solutions. With your expertise in NQA-1, nuclear safety standards, and quality assurance practices in highly regulated environments, you will develop operating procedures, quality processes, and compliance systems that meet project-specific requirements, deliver exceptional results for our customers, and create value for our business.
Success Criteria:
Balancing the needs of multiple projects, overseeing the leadership and proposal requests, your unique position at PAR will be a hub for business-critical projects. As a trusted leader, your ability to see around corners and anticipating risks and opportunities coupled with enjoying rolling up your sleeve to bring hands on experience to the review and deployment of standards for our Critical Handing Solutions projects from adherence to the QMS to inspecting the precision and accuracy of production equipment, testing, measurement, analytical equipment, and our QC/QA facilities will help you be successful in this role.
From proposal phase to installation, you will be working together with project teams to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, standards, and specs are represented, especially as we focus on supporting our SMR customers. In the first 30 days, you’ll immerse yourself in our quality programs and processes. Beyond that, you’ll:
* Develop and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with NQA-1, ISO 9001, and other industry standards.
* Lead internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reporting to agencies such as NRC, DOE, and IAEA.
* Develop and manage a team of 5+ quality engineers and inspectors, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Support SMR (Small Modular Reactor) customers by ensuring compliance with nuclear regulations, quality planning, and risk management.
* Oversee supplier qualification and evaluation to ensure procurement quality and compliance with nuclear and highly regulated industry standards.
* Ensure proper cascading of quality requirements from RFQs and customer contracts to suppliers and procurement teams.
* Implement structured problem-solving methodologies (FMEA, 5 Whys) to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
* Establish and track KPIs such as Cost of Quality, NCRs, CAPAs, Audit Pass Rates, and Supplier Quality Performance.
* Drive Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance quality and process efficiency.

We offer market competitive pay and benefits based upon the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Our starting rate of pay for this salaried position is targeted at $150,000-175,000 annually and is bonus eligible.

* 5+ years of direct experience with NQA-1, including practical application in a highly regulated industry.
* 5+ years of leadership experience managing Quality teams in an engineering-driven, project-based environment.
* Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or ISO 13485 is a plus.
* Strong familiarity with nuclear codes and standards (e.g., ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50, 10 CFR 21, DOE O 414.1D, IAEA standards).
* Understanding of nuclear procurement processes and supplier qualification requirements.
* Experience interfacing with regulatory bodies such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Department of Energy (DOE).
* US Person status required due to regulatory compliance.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Continuous Improvement certifications (Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt).
* Ability to travel up to 15% to conduct supplier audits and support compliance initiatives.
