Job Description
Our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team is passionate about bringing our medicines and vaccines to our customers around the world, while maintaining worker health and safety as our number one priority.
The EHS Specialist provides site technical and regulatory support and assists the GSE team in implementation of all necessary measures and initiatives required by federal, state, and local safety & environmental regulations. This role contributes to continuous improvement and successful implementation of environmental, health and safety programs.
With management direction, responsible for providing compliant environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to departments at the West Point site. Integrates EHS programs into daily operations to assure regulatory compliance, achieves continuous performance improvement, meeting EHS performance objectives. Partners with operations to develop objectives to achieve these goals in alignment with site business goals and values.
Serves as first contact, coordinator, and support for EHS management of change submissions for our company's Research Laboratories Division.
Reviews processes, facilities, procedures, and management of change documents to assure conformance to recognized EHS regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Provides training program support to site-wide client groups by processing training addition, removal, and extension requests.
Supports continuous improvement of training content and training program development through liaising with Global Learning & Development and enhancing internal governance processes.
Assists the company's Research Laboratories Division in completing and closing action plans in a timely fashion.
Supports the EHS West Point team in achieving strategic goals through applying project management principles and engaging in work related to priority projects.
Assure completion of all regulatory submissions and notifications required to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local EHS requirements.
Supports the EHS West Point team and our company's Research Laboratories Division through completing ancillary work within digital tools, EHS processes, and organizational processes.
Required:
Bachelor's Degree required.
3 - 8 years applied professional work experience. Proficiency in critical thinking, analytical thinking, communication skills, and problem solving. Awareness of project management techniques.
Awareness level of proficiency in the areas of environmental compliance, occupational and process safety.
Ability to navigate Microsoft 365 tools, SAP Success Factor Software, and other job-specific software once trained.
Preferred:
Degree in Environment, Health, & Safety or science related degree.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
