Job Title: Senior CNC CAM Technician
Salary Range: $56,232 - $90,077 annually, plus bonus eligibility, salary will commensurate with relevant experience.
Summary: Create prototype putter heads, weights, shaft weight putter concepts using lathes and mills. Create some prototype club heads, components and fixtures using SolidWorks or NX software. Works under supervision to design fixtures, develop machining sequence and CNC program for three-axis and five-axis mills. Knowledge of production machining of exotic materials such as titanium, aluminum, carbon-steel, and stainless-steel cutting feeds and speeds required. Use design software (CAD) to model surfaces and other components needed for each set up. Support design dept. with knowledge of, adhesives, mechanics, castings, materials, and search for sources on web for coatings, plastics, outsourcing or any number of related functions and ideas. The final objective is to support new putter design concepts for prototypes and leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Computer time spent designing surfaces and "virtual fixturing" to prepare job for machine programming with supervision and or mentor.
- Programming milling machines to create tool paths.
- Utilize manual and CNC mill, lathes, and griding wheels to custom make prototype and tour putter bodies and components.
- Setting up milling machines and fixtures.
- Meet with engineers to discuss specifications for jobs related to that individual.
- Ordering components, cutters, steel and supplies for shop.
Qualifications:
- Vocational / High School diploma is required. College and trade school courses a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years as a general machinist is required with some golf industry experience preferred.
- Manual Mills and lathes must be included in the 5 years experience.
- Must be able to read and edit "G code", standard HAAS/FADAL G programming language.
- Must be able to do minimal CAD surfacing and part orientation using SolidWorks or Unigraphics software.
- Must be able to grind custom carbide "Form tools" using "Deckel" diamond wheel single flute cutter grinder.
- Must be proficient using HAAS conversational language, IPS (HAAS Intuitive Programming System)
