Aligning on Key Dilemmas: Identifying and addressing the core issues that hinder effective Turnaround execution.
Learning from History: Drawing insights from previous regional approaches to Turnaround events to avoid past pitfalls and leverage successful strategies.
Introducing a New Approach: Implementing a more integrated and holistic strategy that differs from past methods by focusing on regional coordination and resource optimization.
Operational Scheme: Establishing clear ownership and accountability for Turnaround activities, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and committed to the new approach.
Accountabilities:
This position is part of the US Chemicals and Products Regional TA Organization (reports to the US Chemicals and Products Regional TA General Manager) and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for TA Events and outages. Your primary purpose for this role is to ensure the seamless integration and execution of exceptional Turnaround delivery with focus on the regions 4 horizon Impact Events. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to integrate the regional team with site teams, as well as taking a leadership role during the execution phase of each event.
You will also be responsible for the following duties:
Turnaround Strategies and Resourcing:
Support the development of a wholistic regional TA Strategy and Resource Demand tool
Support and facilitate regional resource planning and execution plan - key focus is on delivering gap closure across region and ensuring a fit team for the 2028 Monaca TA. A healthy TA skill pool and resource funnel is the overall objective for the region
Scoping:
Sharpen approach to TA Scoping ensuring right work at the right time - use of external challenge is expected
Turnaround Planning and Scheduling:
Ensure development and management of detailed Turnaround plans and schedules that drive top quartile durations and optimize life cycle reliability of our assets
Integral in regional contracting strategy choices for leveraged value
Coordinate with site teams and external contractors to ensure alignment and timely completion of planning & scheduling activities in line with each Turnaround Event Milestone plan
Utilize advanced tools and techniques to optimize durations and resource utilization
Cost Management:
Oversee the preparation and monitoring of Turnaround estimates & budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources and achieve top quartile costs
Implement best practice cost control measures and track expenditures against budget
Conduct cost-benefit analyses for process improvements and support industry competitive costs/durations
Risk Management:
Implement best practice risk management strategies and plans, supporting the identification and assessment of risks associated with each Turnaround Event
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
Conduct regular risk reviews
Participate in Regional Assurance Revies with the US Chemicals and Products Regional TA Team
Integration Lead:
Coordinate integration efforts across multiple events at the 4 US Chemicals and Products assets for consistency and efficiency
Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams and departments
Develop and implement best practices and standard operating ways of working
Execution Event Management:
Serve as support Event Manager or Block Supervisor during execution, overseeing on-site activities and delivery of event premised goals and objectives
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Manage and resolve issues during execution
Training and Development:
Identify needed training in Turnaround Planning, Scheduling, Cost Control, and Risk Management; facilitate training needed
Coach, mentor, and develop site personnel
Support the implementation and maintenance of planning, estimating, scheduling, and cost control ways of working
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present progress reports and performance metrics
Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Provide insights and recommendations for future planning and execution
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
You must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Turnaround planning, scheduling, cost management, risk management, and event management within the chemical or petrochemical industry
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Proven track record of successfully leading Turnaround Teams and executing large-scale high & mega complexity events
Mastery in advanced Turnaround planning, scheduling, cost and risk management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with abilities to lead and manage teams both remotely and on-site, using digital tools to maintain productivity and engagement
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Advanced understanding of AMS & SEAM Perform Turnaround Processes
Proven track record of achieving tough targets and objectives
Ability to effectively coordinate and align Turnaround activities across multiple sites, ensuring consistency and leveraging regional resources
The base salary range for this position is $146, 000 - $218, 000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
