The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of US Medical Affairs, you will provide strategic direction to the Regional Medical Affairs Leads (RMAL). You will sit on the Medical Affairs Leadership Team to help develop and execute the medical affairs strategy and priorities. You will develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and professional societies.
NOTE: This is a Houston, TX remote-based opportunity
The Role
Lead and direct the Regional Medical Affairs Leader (RMAL) Team:
Develop and maintain onboarding training and mentorship
Conduct performance review and planning and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
Review and approve expense reports
Help develop and execute the Medical Affairs strategy for the RMAL Team. Be a member of the Medical Leadership Team and Strategic Partner to Other Company Divisions
KOL engagement:
Develop and oversee KOL engagement plans
Educate and gain insights from industry leaders
Involvement with KOLs in exchange of scientific and medical information, including Advisory Boards and presentations at national meetings
Provide support or lead the development and execution of medical strategies to identify key experts, investigators, and institutions strategic to research and development efforts
Participate in the strategic development and tactical execution of plans to engage scientific thought leaders and act as a conduit for providing accurate and updated clinical, scientific and medical information to Health Care Professionals and other members of the scientific community
Insight collection and analysis
Commercial Support:
Support marketing as a medical resource such as evaluating tools for medical accuracy and completeness and supporting execution of Speaker Training
Partner with Field Sales Leadership to align on Field activities while maintaining compliant separation between Sales and Commercial
Clinical Research Support:
Provide support to our clinical team, medical monitors, and CRAs to coordinate and optimize educational and research support for sites/investigators participating in our clinical trials
Be a medical resource in technologies used by our organization (e.g., Veeva)
Your skills and experience
MD, PharmD, PhD or other allied medical degree required
5+ years of people management experience
5+ years of medical affairs or related nephrology experience
Travel requirements: 40-60% of the time
