A Day in the Life:
The Refinery Utility Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and efficient operation of the refinery. This entry-level position involves diverse tasks, including cleaning and maintaining equipment and facilities, assisting with product loading and inventory tracking, and receiving comprehensive training on plant processes and procedures. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in a refinery environment and offers opportunities for growth within the company.
Position Details:
- This role requires a flexible work schedule, including 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process.
- Starting Hourly Wage: $25.70

Essential Functions:
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness throughout the refinery, including equipment, plant areas, buildings, and grounds, both indoors and outdoors. This may involve sweeping, shoveling, scrubbing, and other cleaning tasks.
- Routinely clean up product spills and debris in all areas of the facility, adhering to safety and environmental procedures.
- Collect product samples according to plant supervisors' instructions, adhering to established sampling procedures.
- Assist in rail, barge, and truck loading operations, following safety protocols and instructions from supervisors.
- Monitor product inventories in plant storage facilities as directed by supervisors, accurately recording inventory levels.
- Receive training on refinery processes, facility operations, and safety procedures. Operate equipment under the direction of supervisors.
- Complete training requirements regarding warehouse management, DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) systems, and the unloading of palm oil trucks.
- Report all food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel to ensure prompt resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall refinery operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to routinely perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and stairs, working at heights, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other inclement weather.
- Ability to work around water and other potentially hazardous materials, adhering to all safety precautions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
- Possessing sufficient manual dexterity, sight, and hearing to perform job duties safely and effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to follow directions accurately and consistently, adhering to established procedures.
- Reliable and dependable attendance.
- Ability to learn and apply technical procedures using company-provided computer equipment.
