Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Molecular Parasitology Intern to join our department located at our Athens, GAfacility. As an Intern, you will:
- Work closely with scientists and project teams to prioritize assay development that provides solutions for ongoing projects
- You will play a hands-on role in driving drug discovery efforts by employing molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques to interrogate parasite biology.
- Throughout the course of your work, you will have exposure to multiple functions within Research and Development in animal health.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop molecular, cellular and biochemical assays to interrogate parasite biology
- Participate in research team meetings to present and evaluate data
- Work closely with scientists and project teams to prioritize assay development that provides solutions for ongoing projects
- Contribute intellectual input into innovative drug discovery efforts for veterinary parasite
Requirements
- Must be an advanced degree student in good academic standing
- Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Major or minor in related field of internship
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
- Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Experience with basic molecular biology laboratory skills
- Willing to work with ectoparasites and/or insects
