This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to use mechanical design expertise and leadership skills on turbine engine component design. The role includes performing stress and thermal analyses in support of new product development, bench and engine test definitions and data reduction, evaluating in-service hardware issues, and providing support for production hardware. Leading and mentoring less-experienced engineers in the complex analysis and lifing methods will be part of the day-to-day responsibility. Understanding and adherence to design requirements and practices, acting with speed and accuracy for on-time execution, and apply six sigma thought processes and tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design of high- or low-pressure turbines
- Stress analysis (elastic/inelastic) of turbine components
- Creep analysis
- Vibration analysis
- LCF/HCF lifing analysis
- Damage tolerance assessment on turbine components per FAA requirements
- Heat transfer analysis
- Root cause and corrective action analysis/process
- Engine test support (thermal, strain, etc.)
- Material characterization test plan development in support of analysis requirements
- Design reviews - internal and external audience
- Technical report writing
- Milestone compliance
- Process improvement
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering, sciences, technology, or mathematics
- 15 or more years in aerospace related mechanical design engineering experience
