As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes within the Nuclear Power Generation manufacturing department, focusing on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness by analyzing production methods, equipment, and materials, often collaborating with other departments to identify and implement improvements across nuclear product lines.
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Participating in, upholding, and promoting the Baker Hughes safety culture
- Working within the scope of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code for Nuclear, ISO9001:2015, and AS9100D, where applicable
- Taking ownership and mastering RS processes and products
- Troubleshooting shop floor issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions
- Manufacturing traveler/router creations and modifications
- Dispositioning of non-conforming products and equipment
- Handling product and process failure analysis/troubleshooting
- Manufacturing processes and quality control through collaboration with operators, data collection, and trend tracking
- Manufacturing process audits
- Purchasing manufacturing tooling and consumables
- Handling scrap reduction through process improvement projects
- Fixturing design and implementation
- Manufacturing procedure creation, modification, and associated operator training
- Engineering change management
- Handling Capital Equipment project justifications, management, and implementation
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college / or an associate's degree with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering.
- Have experience with Shainin, Six Sigma, and LEAN methodology implementation
- Have knowledge of vacuum equipment and systems
- Demonstrate proficiency MS Office suite, SolidWorks, SAP, well engineering and design software
- Have mechanical inspection techniques and abilities
- Have exceptional mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability
- Understand mechanical drawing creation and interpretation
- Have robust knowledge of geometric and dimensional tolerancing (GD&T)
