As a key member of the development team, you will act as a subject matter expert on the desktop application, focusing on the installer, Java JRE updater, Java UI, and various backend modules. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-performance, multi-threaded system, working alongside a team of experienced professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct complex product design and troubleshooting activities, involving extensive research and analysis.
• Participate in system design, specification development, program logic, flow-charting, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Make critical design decisions for the development teams.
• Contribute to complex programming tasks, providing code reviews and documentation.
• Analyze problems, recommend solutions, and contribute to client/technology interactions.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture & Infrastructure teams on strategic designs.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts in development and production environments.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience with Core Java (both client and server side).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with a similar object-oriented language like .NET or C++.
• Experience with distributed systems/software, real-time processing, relational databases, and messaging systems.
• Experience developing downloadable desktop applications.
• Experience with concurrency and multi-threading.
• Experience with scaling, Java Garbage Collection, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Agile and test-driven development methodologies.
• Experience with rich UI frameworks like AngularJS, jQuery, HTML5, Swing, or JavaFX.
• Experience with application development frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, or JSF.
• Experience with build, deploy, and test automation tools like Ant, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, TeamCity, or JUnit.
• Demonstrated experience working with core business logic within applications.
• Experience in developing APIs and frameworks.
• Working knowledge of finance and/or the trading domain.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $37.197 to $41.33 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
