Summary

This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO - Information Systems and Chief Information Officer. As an IT Specialist ( SYSADMIN), you will be a recognized technical authority providing leadership in planning the installation, testing, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.

Duties

As an ,IT Specialist ( SYSADMIN) you will:

  • Plan and schedule the installation of new or specialized hardware, operating systems, and applications software.
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to extensive, complex systems and equipment.
  • Monitor systems resources to determine performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Implement security procedures and tools.
  • Ensure availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency of complicated systems.

This is a remote position. The salary range listed depicts the range covering the lowest locality level, up to the highest locality level. Salary will be determined upon selection and dependent upon duty location, grade, step, and locality pay of selectee(s). Additional salary information can be found on .

Key Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the GS-14: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Performing systems support such as designing, implementing and supporting software applications in a multitier architecture.
Examples of this may include the following:
  • Hardware/server configuration maintenance including documentation, identifying problems and developing corrective actions and identifying IT related problems and developing corrective actions.; AND
  • Expertise and experience acting as the Service Owner and single point of accountability for development, delivery, support and technical expertise for assigned services; AND
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior staff, information systems professionals or non-technical users.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  4. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Category rating will be used to rank and select eligible candidates. If qualified, you will be assigned to one of three quality level categories: Category A (highest quality category), Category B (middle quality category), or Category C (minimally qualified category), depending on your responses to the online questions, regarding your experience, education, and training related to this position. Your rating may be lowered if your responses to the online questions are not supported by the education and/or experience described in your application.
