Summary of Position:
The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective support service to maintain the needs of BGCB.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, directs, and ensures the security of BGCB’s information technology infrastructure, services, and systems.
- Manages daily operations of the IT department and BGCB’s managed IT support provider (MSP)
- Establishes, communicates, and implements BGCB policies and procedures
- Ensures computer, telephone, and network support, in collaboration with MSP, to all system users
- Works with CFO to formulate short and long-term plans to meet present and future automation, communication, and other technology needs
- Assess, with MSP, the security of BGCB’s IT infrastructure and systems and creates short and long-term plans for eliminating potential security risks, including reviewing, and updating the acceptable use policy (AUP) for BGCB staff
- Confers with BGCB employees across the entire organization to learn the nature of their operations and the type of data and equipment needed to attain required goals
- Analyzes business requirements for IT systems and assesses need for new equipment and software
- Ensures a complete inventory of all BGCB-owned hardware and software is established, maintained. Establishes and maintains a regular schedule for routine maintenance of equipment and software
- Installs, supervises the installation of, or provides technical advice and support for the installation of all technology
- With input from CFO, establishes goals for IT operations, evaluates actual performance against goals, and monitors the effectiveness in meeting those goals.
- Provides technical assistance and advice to BGCB staff. Reports to the CFO on a regular basis on department performance, critical issues, resource needs, etc.
- Oversees the planning and management of BGCB’s telephone system, VOIP, and manage any upgrade efforts
- Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors
- Works closely with MSP and participates in the quarterly business meeting with virtual Chief Technical Officer (VCTO)
- Identifies resource gaps and recommends changes in the IT budget
- Manages the IT Department budget and prepares annual budget requests for review with CFO
- Oversees and administers the procurement of services, supplies, and equipment according to purchasing policies and procedures of BGCB
- Performs other related duties as required
Position Requirements:

- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or related field.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in the information technology field; minimum of three (3) years of experience in management/leadership; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
- Knowledge of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases, and storage systems.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, management, leadership, and time-management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and invoices and to learn BGCB’s financial practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a detailed and accurate manner.
- Ability to think creatively, exercise emotional intelligence, and maintain or shift focus in accordance with changing priorities.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees and vendors doing business with BGCB.
- Driver’s license and vehicle required to travel to sites and transport equipment as needed.
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, as job tasks require.

Job Type: Full Time
Pay Range: $104k - $124k (Depending on Relevant experience & Internal Equity)
