Role Overview
Legend Biotech is seeking one In Vivo Pharmacology Intern as part of the In Vivo Pharmacology (IVP) of Preclinical/Early Drug Development (PCD/EDD) team based in Piscataway (and Somerset) site for our 2025 Summer Internship Program, which will run from June 9th, 2025, to August 15th, 2025. As a summer intern, we will instruct him/her the basic knowledge and concept of in vivo model study to support early R&D projects as well as hands-on skills to prepare samples or test articles for in vivo model study. Meanwhile, the intern will also learn the basic technology of some necessary assays using animal model study sample, such as FACS flowcytometry, ELISA-based cytokine profiling or ddPCR or qRT-PCR. The intern will perform a small scale independent sub-titled study from an ongoing in vivo model study to investigate some features of IVP and R&D team interest. The intern will analyze the data and draft a study report accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Check and expand our in vivo model cell line master stock with Sr. Scientist, which require cell culture, passage, freezing and stock as well as assays to check KO or KI features and firefly-luciferase reporter expression level. Manage and organize the inventory with Sr. Scientist. \
- Thaw and prepare tumor cells and PBMC cells needed for coming mouse model study together with Sr. Scientist.
- Help Sr. Scientist to process mouse PBL samples for blood cells and serum/plasma for following readout assays.
- Learn how to perform FACS flowcytometry with PBL samples for quantitative and qualitative analysis. To perform some small-panel FACS assay independently for his/her own sub-project.
- Learn how to perform ELISA-based multiple cytokine profiling assay with MSD instrument and perform some assays with Sr. Scientist.
Requirements
- Undergraduate students or master students have strong interest in the biotech/bio-pharma industry with biomedical related majors (including but not limited to biology, chemistry, bioengineering, etc.)
- Those with previous laboratory experience in cell culture, molecular biology, oncology or immunology are preferrable but not mandatory. Experience for data analysis is also recommended.
- A person with integrity and high responsibility for his/her own duty and may deliver tasks with quality independently after proper training and guidance.
- A team player who possesses the enthusiasm for new skills and knowledge through learning and communication.
