Under general supervision, this position acts as a subject matter expert for Mobile Technicians. The Senior Mobile Technician is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes while checking that units meet J. B. Hunt specifications. Key Responsibilities:
Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor and trailer equipment Oversee recall campaigns and sign off on completion Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ABS system and specialized equipment including refrigerated units, lift gates, and frame alignment May onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard Operate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; properly attend to service truck parts inventory Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairs Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water tight Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections sign off Shift Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The expected starting pay range for this position is between $25.61 - $38.42 per hour.
