TITLE: Head, Trade Business Risk, Americas
LOCATION: New York, NY
DUTIES: Manage the Operational, Cyber, Compliance, Regulatory and Conduct risk for Transaction Banking (TB) Trade (Operations Business teams). Manage a team of Business Risk Managers within the country to deliver end-to-end trade risk controls, reporting, governance, and supervision. Ensure the design and execution of controls is effective via periodic assessments, including identification of gaps and remediation of issues, elevating residual risks were appropriate. Create and maintain complete, accurate, and targeted metrics to allow the Senior Management e.g., COO, Global/Regional Head of Business Risk Management for Trade, and Business Heads to assess the control environment and residual risk profile. Identify and escalate thematic and horizon risks with the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate them. Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the Risk function and ensure that countries are governing services provided by offshore processing unit in line with banks policy and country specific requirements. Comply with, and cascade, implementation and oversight of TB's conduct and supervision agendas amongst Trade teams in the country. Provide governance over to data quality management framework, service level agreements, Third party risk assessment and escalation to country/group governance forums where appropriate. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Group TB Operational Risk, Compliance, Fraud Risk, and Business team, regionally, and in-country to increase transparency and share learnings and best practices. Supervise one (1) - Trade Operations employee. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Standard Chartered Bank policy.
REQTS: Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Business, or a related field and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. Must have eight (8) years of experience with: Independently performing review and root cause analysis with knowledge of Trade products and hands on experience; Providing guidance on operational risk matters in line with Operational risk framework and Risk Standards; Independently representing the business function in front of local, group, and regulatory auditors; Contributing to roll out of new products by proactively assessing the risks and suggesting controls at the design stage; Conducting trainings on products/operational risk for the team; Articulating the risks, root cause review, and treatment plans in a clear and concise manner to obtain Risk Owners' approvals.
SALARY: $193,003.00 - $193,003.00/year
HOURS: Full time; Mon - Fri (40 hours per week) EOE.
