THE ROLE
Using discretion and judgment and under the direction of a Financial Reporting Supervisor and Manager, participate in overseeing the quality, completeness and timeliness of shareholder report production. Prepares and/or reviews other required shareholder communications such as prospectus and SAI as well as regulatory reports such as Form N-CSR and Form 24f-2.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Applies specialized knowledge with respect to all mutual funds. Works on more complex funds.
Works independently on the core, routine day-to-day activities.
Assists management with review of Tailored Shareholder Reports and Financials & Other Information.
Assist in leading a small stream within a project and/or contribute to larger projects/cross functional teams
Updates and documents procedures as required. Interprets and executes departmental/company policies.
Solves recurring day-to-day problems with teams, processes or workflows.
Ensures funds' deadlines are met and issues are elevated to Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner.
Provides coverage for absent team members and during busy periods.
Coordinates the production of the portfolio of investments, financial statements, and footnotes included in shareholder reports for selected mutual funds accurately and completely and ensures all reviewer comments are addressed and resolved.
Prepares the new tailored shareholder reports for up to 40 funds monthly.
Prepares Form N-CSR filings accurately and completely. Files both Form N-CSR and 24f-2 accurately and timely.
Facilitates responses to auditor questions, comments and audit issues to assure that fund audits are completed on time. Facilitates responses to questions and comments from the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Financial Reporting Manager, and other interested parties to assure certification of the financial statements.
Assists with the certification process as necessary.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience in the mutual fund or securities industry.
Minimum of 0-2+ years related experience preferred.
Experience working in an environment where production, controls, and daily deadlines are required.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and Regulation S-X is desirable.
Strong attention to detail. Ability to multi-task. Solid analytical, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills. Proven ability to work well under pressure, manage a work stream spanning multiple business units.
Willingness to take initiative/self-starter.
PREFERRED:
Demonstrated computer proficiency, working knowledge of DFIN's Arc Suite and experience using Adobe is preferred.
Regulatory experience (i.e. SEC/EDGAR filings) a plus.
Minimum 2 to 4 years of project management or communications experience, financial services preferable.
