Job Description Summary
In this Financial Reporting Analytics internship, you will have the opportunity to work alongside Transamerica team members on business-required/necessary projects. Responsibilities:
Uses multiple financial tools to produce a variety of analyses.
Proactively identifies unique problems and seeks help to resolve them, if necessary.
Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.
Conducts business process and data analysis to align high-level requirements to business initiatives.
Prepares “as is” and “current state” documentation in written and graphical form (flows).
Facilitates the elicitation of business and systems requirements.
Develop new or revised processes or procedures in lieu of system development.
Analyze business unit requests and document business requirements, work with various technical staff members to determine possible solutions and communicate business and system impacts management.
Analysis business data and transformation rules, document requirements, and prepare documentation as needed for technical teams.
Prepare documentation for business and system requirements in various formats.
Work on project teams to provide business and data analysis on moderately complex information systems. Includes documentation of business/system requirements and data transformation rules.
Conduct research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and may develop formal recommendations to management.
Utilize project management methodologies to support a systems development methodology to meet project deliverables.
Provide test scenarios or test criteria based on knowledge gained through business and systems analysis. May provide approval or quality check on test plans or test matrix.
Serve as a liaison to business units when gathering requirements.
Qualifications:
To qualify for an internship, applicants must be currently enrolled at a college or university pursuing an accounting, finance, business analytics, or other analytical-type degree. Internships are not available for students who have completed their college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.
Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred knowledge of AWS (but not required).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred experience and fundamental knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or Amazon QuickSight.

The salary for this position is $21/per hour. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Working Environment:
Flexible work location environment: Prefer Cedar Rapids Hybrid. Internship can be remote.
