Our client, a global semiconductor company that designs and manufactures analog and embedded processing chips, seeks experienced and engaging Feature Writers on an as-needed, ad-hoc basis. This is a part-time opportunity, ideal for writers seeking flexible work arrangements. The position can be hybrid in Dallas, TX, or fully remote within the United States (CST time zone preferred).
About the Role:
As a Feature Writer, you will craft compelling articles and blog posts that highlight our client’s vibrant company culture and employer brand. You will work closely with the company’s Content Lead to bring these stories to life, from initial concept to polished final product. Responsibilities include:
- Content Development: Producing high-quality, informative, and engaging written content (articles, blog posts) focused on company culture and employer branding initiatives. Assignments may include up to two articles per month.
- Collaboration & Communication: Working closely with the Content Lead to understand project briefs, discuss interview strategies, and ensure alignment with key messaging.
- Interviewing: Conducting insightful interviews with subject matter experts (employees, leaders) - typically ranging from one to three interviews per article - to gather compelling stories and perspectives.
- Writing & Editing: Developing first drafts that effectively capture the essence of the interviews and align with the project brief and any provided messaging materials. Incorporating feedback and revisions as needed to ensure the highest quality output.
- Time Management: Effectively managing your time to complete each article within the allocated timeframe (approximately 8-12 hours per article, including all stages from brief to final draft).
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience in corporate writing, with a strong portfolio showcasing published articles and blog posts specifically focused on company culture and employer branding.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct effective interviews with subject matter experts, extracting key insights and stories.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, especially in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the manufacturing or technology industry.
- Content strategy and thought leadership experience.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50-70 / hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
