POSITION SUMMARY
Provide automation engineering support for infrastructure capital projects. This role ensures all automation activities associated with the design and procurement of process equipment are in accordance with Hess requirements, codes, and standards.Support the Infrastructure Execution Team through the complete cycle of equipment specification, supplier selection, and supplier drawing and document review, including detailing project scope, goals, and deliverables.Provide support to construction contractors during the construction phase by responding to RFIs and answering questions.Support QA, QC, and commissioning through startup for completion of COS and handover to operations. Represent the Infrastructure Organization when providing automation engineering support to other internal Hess organizations, including Well Factory Planning and Design, Infrastructure Development, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Operations, and Maintenance Reliability Integrity.This role reports to the Infrastructure I&C Engineering Manager.Discipline-specific reporting relationship to I&C asset and global Technical Authorities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide automation engineering support to the Infrastructure Execution and Development teams
Interact and collaborate with other organizations such midstream/upstream operations, MRI, drilling and completions, etc.
Develop preliminary engineering proposals, conceptual and basic designs
Evaluate programming to identify opportunities for modularization and standardization to streamline development efforts.
Develop and maintain cross-functional Programming Design Specifications for well facilities and system additions/enhancements
Design standardized code to improve quality and ease of replication by programming vendors
Provide engineering calculations for review and/or selection of equipment within control panels
Coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and maintenance/commissioning programming departments within Hess
Ensure automation software, hardware, and architecture meet Hess and industry Cybersecurity requirements
Perform technical evaluation of bids
Review Engineering vendor documents and drawings
Work with other project team members, including engineers, technicians and external partners
Understand/comply with current codes, regulations and industry standards
Investigate technical problems, evaluate alternatives and identify the optimum solution
Effectively prioritize workload between several projects

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience

5+ years engineering experience in Electrical, Instrument and Controls Engineering.
Experience providing engineering services to the Chemical, Refining and Petrochemical Industry.
Experience covering the areas of Conceptual Engineering, FEED (Front End Engineering Design), Detail Design and Consultation.

Education, Training & Certifications

Minimum BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
Familiar with applicable industry codes and standards.
Oil & Gas industry experience required, with onshore shale production experience preferred
