Energy Panel Structures, Inc., an industry leader in commercial and residential construction with headquarters based in Graettinger, Iowa, currently has openings for Engineering Interns at their Graettinger location.

EPS Internships introduce undergraduate engineers to the design side of construction. We will further enhance y our learning in subjects such as: building design, structural analysis and drafting. you will experience firsthand what it's like to design a building that will actually be constructed. EPS designs many different types of buildings including: agricultural, commercial, residential, and industrial - We hope to expose you to all.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop plan views, cross sections, construction details, etc. for the building to be constructed.
• Develop preliminary drawings for buildings still in the quoting stage.
• Use structural analysis to determine loads on structural members.
• Use structural design software to size members under certain loads.
• Learn about IBC (International Building Code) and provisions in ASCE 7 (American Society of Civil Engineers).
• Learn about the different product lines EPS provides.
• Attend training meetings to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
• We may also have you develop the estimate for a building for one of our customers. i.e. quantity takeoff of materials and coming up with a price.

Key Skillsets:

• AutoCAD Architecture or related software
• Construction knowledge (materials and methods)
• Structural analysis

• Microsoft Excel
• Estimating

Education:

• Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Ag Engineering, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
