About the Role
The Director of Program Management, is a member of firm’s central Strategic Design & Delivery team. This role works globally across the Client, Investment and Infrastructure platforms to oversee the Firm’s portfolio of largest and most complex strategic projects. Programs are typically ‘front-to-back’ impacting many teams & systems, requiring strong program oversight, governance & control. The role will require both developing the capability of Program Management in the team and wider Firm as well as acting as a ‘Program Manager’ on some our largest, most complex deliveries. As a ‘Program Manager’ the Director will work closely with all stakeholders to create & track program-level Objectives & Key Results ‘OKRs’; work with the Process Design Team & Product Managers to ensure design and business requirements are modelled in all plans using correct tooling and best practices; define and control risk & issues across the program and present recommendations for remediation to business sponsors; identify & co-ordinate dependencies with other programs & manage overall budgetary & return on investment tracking. Programs will typically be setup using the ‘scaled agile’ methodology, and there will be an opportunity to contribute to the development of this approach. The Program Manager will present to large groups inclusive of senior leaders and decision makers, spanning various parts of the firm, and deliver transformational initiatives using the latest toolkits. As the capability lead, the role will require establishing a strategy to build and foster adoption of best-in-class methodologies, toolkits and governance, as well as develop and hire talent that can excel as program managers. Each program manager is expected to work on several large programs. The role will be based in London or Boston, coordinating with colleagues across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Program Management of their designated initiatives, covering applicable responsibilities including:
Driving accountability for program progress against the vision, scope, roadmap, and the prioritized outcomes
Ensuring business and infrastructure connectivity, strategy, and engagement across the globe
Coordinating and facilitating working sessions with stakeholder groups from various parts of the firm
Monitoring project progress, managing project risk and planning resource availability
Estimate resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Own the budget process and program / return on investment tracking
Report against business outcomes/OKRs, consolidating workstream-level updates back to the Program stakeholders
Marshall the inbound delivery requirements and demand received from technology and the business, coordinating, consolidating, and prioritizing this demand in concert with a team of Product Managers (and pre-empting downstream dependencies)
Work closely with Product Managers, business subject matter experts and technology delivery teams to define and drive the vision for a workstream or set of business outcomes and ensure role clarity on the team
Identify opportunities, articulate, and translate business needs and strategies into actionable and executable visions and roadmaps across the program’s workstreams
Establish and facilitate ongoing program governance that sits across multiple Agile teams/workstreams
Lead and/or facilitate prioritized work and analysis that will help solve complex issues that impact the wider organization
As well as leading the center of excellence for the firm’s program management capability, recruiting, developing the central team as well as training others in similar roles across the firm on program management best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
We seek the following qualifications:
Demonstrated record of success delivering complex business outcomes, technology, technology change at the program-level (preferably in the Asset Management industry)
Demonstrated leadership and ability to communicate with colleagues across multiple regions in both technical and business disciplines
Ability to influence senior leadership, sponsors and stakeholders
Excellent leadership, people management and organizational ability
Experience in or familiar with scaled agile methodologies such as SAFe, Agile@Scale,
Familiarity with project management tools used by technology teams e.g., Jira
Experience leading and developing program management teams, across multiple regions

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 100,000 - 225,000This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
