The Digital Merchandiser plays a vital role in driving online sales and profitability by developing and executing data-driven merchandising strategies on fleetfeet.com. This position focuses on key financial metrics and performance indicators to optimize product assortment, create unique shopping experiences, and highlight promotions that align with business goals. Collaborating closely with Purchasing, Marketing, and Operations, the Digital Merchandiser ensures a seamless and profitable digital shopping experience.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Strategy, this role is instrumental in driving business growth through strategic and data-driven digital merchandising.

• Metric Design & Analysis: Develop and manage KPIs (e.g. sales, AOV, sell-through rate, etc) to track and optimize digital performance, making data-driven decisions to improve product assortment and conversions.
• Financial Focus: Monitor financial metrics (e.g. margin, fulfillment, inventory health) to ensure merchandising strategies align with profitability goals.
• Data-Driven Strategy: Use internal and external data to inform assortment and promotional strategies, identifying opportunities and risks that balance sales and margin.
• Collaboration: Partner with Purchasing and Marketing to align digital strategies with seasonal plans and business objectives, including addition of test vendors to augment onsite assortment
• Digital Merchandising: Own the strategy for online product assortment, optimizing product presentation to drive conversions including a strong cadence of seasonal on-site brand and product storytelling
• Promotion Planning: Develop digital strategies for promotions and events, using performance data to forecast and maximize sales impact.
• Customer Experience: Leverage customer behavior data to create tailored shopping experiences.
• Operational Monitoring: Track and act on digital performance trends, refining strategies to enhance the customer journey and sales outcomes.
• Taxonomy & Navigation: Oversee website taxonomy and navigation to ensure products are easy to find.

• A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in digital merchandising or e-commerce with an emphasis on financial performance
• Knowledge of key brands, product types, performance benefits and shopping trends for performance running category preferred
• Expertise in financial analysis and performance metrics (e.g. sales, margin, inventory, AOV, RPV).
• Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive sales and improve profitability.
• Collaborative, with experience working across teams to align on business goals.
• Knowledge of website analytics tools and conversion optimization strategies.

Additional Requirements:  Position requires occasional moving around with light (1-10lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling.  The position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office equipment, etc.  The position is mostly sedentary and requires the employee to have close visual acuity to perform job requirements.  The position requires frequent communication with team members and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and/or fingers while constantly utilizing a computer. This position is located within an office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
