Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will participate in building a new platform from the ground up for our SaaS product. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the development of a cutting-edge platform that will enhance our digital presence and improve customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, system administration, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.

Scope of Work

• Outcomes / results are defined in collaboration with management. Elevates questions on direction or more complex issues and work is assessed from a longer term perspective. May train or mentor lesser experienced employees.
• Participate in the development of a new platform, with a strong emphasis on rapid iteration and continuous improvement.
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to automate and streamline processes.
• Monitor and maintain system performance, reliability, and security.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Optimize system performance and scalability.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Possesses expert level knowledge and has top level skills and abilities to work on business problems of substantial complexity or scope.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or software engineering.
• Strong experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc) a plus.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Pipelines, etc.).
• Hands on experience implenting security, quality, and other tools into the continous delivery toolchain (SonarCloud, Snyk, GitHub Security, etc.)
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders, including development, operations, and security teams.
• Comfort teaching new concepts and skills to others.
• Proven track record of frequent delivery of incremental value.
• Strong desire for personal growth and continuous learning.
