Moody's Insurance Solutions is looking for software engineers who are excited and passionate
about tackling complex challenges in processing large amounts of data within the context of a
highly analytical, model-based computation framework. We are looking to solve incredibly
challenging business and science real-world problems that will have an impact.


In the Model Platform team, you will contribute to platform and engines which utilize large scale
distributed data processing technology to deliver highly scalable, elastic, and cloud-based SaaS
solutions for risk analyses.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design, develop and maintain high-performance risk analytics services, engines and software infrastructure using C#
  • Translate design inputs into development work items
  • Create software design documents
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers, Product/Project Managers and Quality Assurance to develop multi-tier application framework and components

Required experience and skills:

  • Programming experience with C#, C++, or Java including Object Oriented Design
  • Strong skills in analytic computing and algorithms
  • Passion for finding and solving hard problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with hybrid/remote team
  • Master of Science in Computer Science or related fields, or alternatively bachelor's degree with 2+ years of non-internship industry experience.

Desirable experience and skills:

  • Experience in distributed or parallel computing
  • Competence in software design using class templates or generics
  • Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications
  • Understanding of Rust, Go, or other compiled languages
  • Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or other high-level scripting languages
  • Familiarity with relational and big data technologies, batching systems, Terraform, and Docker
  • Strong mathematical background, including statistics and numerical analysis
  • Awareness of probabilistic and stochastic computational techniques
  • Experience with data access and computing in highly distributed cloud systems, preferably AWS
  • Background in working with complex software systems that have successfully been delivered to customers

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $95K-138K depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
