Northrop Grumman is seeking Acoustics/Structural Engineers. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Sunnyvale, CA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Maritime/Land Systems and Sensors division, Marine Systems business unit, Structures & Acoustics organization. Marine Systems is a leading provider of missile launcher systems, propulsion systems, and power generation systems for naval submarines and surface ships.
The qualified candidate will support:
• Collecting, validating, and analyzing acoustic test data
• Vibration, modal, and direct frequency response analysis
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
This requisition may be filled as either an Associate Structural Engineer or Structural Engineer.
Basic qualifications for an Associate Structural Engineer
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Be majoring in or having majored in Acoustics Engineering, Acoustic Sciences, Structural Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
• The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Basic qualifications for a Structural Engineer
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
• Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution
• Be majoring in or having majored in Acoustics Engineering, Acoustic Sciences, Structural Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
• The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred qualifications for both positions:
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
• Experience or coursework related to Acoustics and Vibration is strongly preferred
• Experience with vibration analysis
• Experience with MATLAB
• Ability to perform vibration, modal, and direct frequency response analysis
Pay Range:
Associate Structural Engineer (Bachelor's): $74,000 - $111,000/year
Structural Engineer (Master's): $89,400 - $134,200/year

Salary Range: $74,000 - $111,000
Salary Range 2: $89,400 - $134,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
